ABOUT
TKDMF
MISSION & HISTORY.
We are a 501C3 Founded in memory of Todd K Delaney a son, brother, uncle, and friend. Todd lost his life to suicide in 2004. Todd was a bright light to all who knew him and always the life of the party. This foundation was established to continue that legacy and shine that light.
Shedding Light- where there is darkness
The population we serve is those suffering from thoughts of suicide and those who are left behind when a person takes their life. We raise awareness by bringing light to an under-discussed topic and often kept in the shadows.
What We Do with the Funds Raised
We have endowed 3 scholarships in the Downingtown Area School District, where students are selected on GPA but on their connection to this cause and their ability to overcome challenges. Additionally, we have provided the funding to set the foundation of suicide awareness education for educators and adults in the school district. Our other achievements include funding support groups for those suffering a suicide loss and Mental Health First Aid Training. We also support the training and education efforts of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. When needed we have financially provided assistance to families who have suffered a suicide loss.
How We Raise both Awareness and Funds
Every September for the last 18 years the TKD Foundation has hosted a Golf Tournament and more recently we have added a Poker Tournament. We bring together the family of Todd, friends, and colleagues from around the country to celebrate life and raise much-needed funds and awareness for Suicide Prevention
IN LOVING MEMORY.
PARTNERS.
We cannot thank our partners and sponsors enough for their support. Our efforts to expand preventative measures can’t take effect unless we have the support of everyone in our community. Our partners and sponsors directly contribute to the prevention of suicides both in our local community and on the national level.
